How long did it take you for your plates, title, registration to come in?

OK. But where do you live? Did your dealer do out of state paperwork for you?Originally Posted by wizzerdo

Wow. Checked again with our title clerk and she describes the PENNDOT process as follows:Originally Posted by MBfan21
still nothing received!
- Paperwork arrives at PENNDOT from NJ dealer
- Arrival of paperwork is logged at PENNDOT by VIN, Name (of titleholder - you and/or lessor if applicable - and address
- Title paperwork goes through PENNDOT's normal slow process
Title clerk says that as soon as the arrival is logged, PENNDOT should be able to look up your paperwork's status by your VIN or name and address. They should then be able to tell you approx. how long is left.
This begs the next question...on what date did your dealer send the paperwork to Harrisburg? And how did they send it? If PENNDOT still has no record of receiving anything, it sounds as though the original packet was lost in transit (or lost at PENNDOT).
Any luck on the dealer re-issuing your temp tags?
It's so shady to me. When I called a couple weeks ago to the DMV, they have no record of my purchase. I told the dealer this and he says they use another service to get my plates and it eventually goes back to the state. I am going to call Penn Dot again today. I keep calling him everyday and he says he's working on it.. or looking into it. No luck on getting his to issue new tags. He won't do it. He says it's against the law. It's ridiculous.

According to our title clerk, this means PENNDOT never received the packet from the dealer. If I were you, I'd find out from your dealer exactly when and how the paperwork is sent to PENNDOT (don't talk to the salesperson, call and ask for their title clerk) then I'd call PENNDOT again (with your VIN as well as name and address) and see if they have it now.Originally Posted by MBfan21

My new insurance card expired Dec 31st. Jan 1st, there was a new card. Same insurance company, same policy number just different card with a new 2008 date. My dealer is using the excuse now that my insurance card was expired and that's what caused the delay. But I had purchased the car Dec 8th! So why only now is he saying the card was expired? If that is the case, then that means he only submitted it on the 31st to his service that is in charge of getting me the plates from PENNDOT. I don't buy his excuse regarding the insurance. Have I mentioned I still don't have the registration card that he is supposed to send with the plates? Originally Posted by Baron Samedi

This is ridiculous. Oh on top of that, MBUSA doesn't have record of my new card. They never received the paperwork from my dealer.
What dealer? Cherry Hill MB?

Here in Texas, it took just over two weeks. This was over Thanksgiving, so that time may be a bit shorter now that the holidays are past.

Partial address? Perhaps that's why it took so long to get to you. If you financed or leased the bank will get the title until the loan's paid off.

Depending on what state you live in, you may not get your title. Most of the time it is sent to your lender until you pay off the loan.Originally Posted by MBfan21

No the car already paid for. So I don't understand why I have no title yet. Partial address meaning my apartment number was omitted. I will have to call Penn Dot again tomorrow to find out where is my title. I should have received it by now.
