Wheels, etc..
Can we use any wheels with the correct offset? or do they have to be special to account for the Active Tire Pressure Monitor? Do all C classes (mine is a euro model) come with with ATPM?
thanks

I put my winter tires on new alloy rims from TireRack with 45 mm offset with no problem (standard offset is 47 mm).
In Canada MB does not use sensors in the wheels for monitoring pressure, they use the simpler monitoring of rotational speed via ABS sensors to determine if a tire is losing pressure. Not sure what is done in Europe and elsewhere.

Ted...what kind of winter tires do you get?

I got the aftermarket MB "Denebola 9 twin spoke wheel" with 225/45/17 sottozeros

Well my car just tells me if the wheel pressure is ok.. doesn't' display psi.. so maybe it uses the same as Canadian.. if so.. cool. so +47 offset?

The minimum wheel offset is definately 45mm for 8" width (55mm for 9" wide rear, staggered setup).
I thought my wheels from my last car, same bolt pattern but with a 40mm offset, would get by but it was pretty much inline with the whell arch opening. I don't want to risk having my tires shredded from the body under hard cornering or braking.

From the Mercedes C Class interactive on-line manual
http://www4.mercedes-benz.com/e/cars...en/N28877.html
wheel offsets for the standard sport package are as per the attached jpg.
(Note: Wheel size: 7.5J x 17 H2 ET 47 <--- means offset of 47)
