DIY on QuickPark?

i guess it's little too early for DIY to come out, but just wondering anyways.
I just don't think it's worth to pay about $500 for installing QuickPark.
anybody?
thanks.

Hello, I just called the dealership and asked about QuickPark. I'm not sure if $500 is worth to pay or not.. How long do you think we'll have to wait before the 3rd party sensor is in the market?

Are there not already kits on ebay? Or are you thinking something specifically for the W204?

I'm having it done and paying the $500 labor. I went to see the car while they were installing the Quikpark yesterday and I was in shock. They were working on the wiring inside of the trunk the lights were apart, the panels facing the bumper and rear of trunk were apart plus beforehand they had to remove the bumper to drill the preformed holes from inside the bumper and reinstall the bumper. Then they had the lower part of the passenger side of the dash apart. This is a serious install better MB do it right and be responsible for it as well. As far as I'm concerned the install price is worth it.

yea stuff like that, i would let the dearler handle it unless you know exactly what you are doing. if anything goes wrong and you did it yourself, youre screwed!

i thought it would be easy to install (more like plug and play) since it's dealer option. but i guess not.

plug and play?? dealers charge you an arm and a leg for these types of install because it does take up a lot of time and effort. it might be worth it for you to have it installed though since parking might be tight where you live. repainting a bumper cost $500 +++ so i guess you can consider it an investment hope it works out for you, maybe you can get them to lower the price

Why can't Quick Park be a factory installed option or even better, offer us Parktronic?

on my bmw e46, alarm was dealer option which was plug and play, same goes for cd-changer and bluetooth. the car was pre-wired with all-avaliable options.
that's why i thought quickpark might be plug and play except drilling hole in rear bumper. but i guess it's not so easy after all.
