emptying the address book?

emptying the address book?
I haven't screwed around with it too much (and haven't looked in the manual at all) but is there an easy way to clear out the address book? When I "sync" contacts from my phone it just adds a second copy of everything. And I'm not very bright so I've done it more than a few times and now have 3 or 4 copies of everything

I sync'd my phone and wound up with 165 entries all labelled "Unknown".
Best I could find in the OM is to Reset the System. That'll do it. It will also erase all of your other presets and your individualization so you will have to go back and redo, but that seems easier than individually erasing all of those entries.

Depends on your phone. I couldn't do it at all because I had an MS operating system and they only work with the Ford Sync systems (which are also MS). Then I installed jetware and it now lets my Treo talk to my MB.

There is an option in the radio to reset to default, just scroll through the menus. This is a good idea to do when your getting rid of your car as you don't want the next owner to have all your info or your friends info. But keep in mind when you do this, it resets the whole radio to default so you will lose all your radio station presets and settings.

So this begs the question: I'm constantly adding contacts to my blackberry that I want to sync with my car. From what I've read, I'll end up with 500 duplicates plus the handful of new contacts that I've added. What are you suppose to do? Clear the entire radio every time you want to upload a few new contacts????????

i dont know what problem you guys have but, with my LG Chocolate, i just go to the MB's menu where it says recieve buisness cards, and i said my contacts one by one, it may be a drag, but i dont talk to all the 180 ppl i got on my phone.
so i just add like the TOP 10, so to say.
BUt it works, no duplicates.

Plenty of us with windows mobile can use our phones just fine without jetware. When I installed jetware, it gave my phone 0 increased functionality with the car, everything that was going to work already worked out of the bag.
It's up to whoever creates the rom to choose how, and which, they're going to implement the bluetooth profiles.
Sorry, just tired of everybody blaming windows mobile (not that I'm a huge fan of it) for their BT issues.

Actually I complained to MB and MB blamed Sprint.
Then I called Sprint and they blamed Palm.
Then I called Palm and they blamed the MS OS saying that "The Palm OS phones work fine with it"
When other posters with the Palm OS Treo confirmed that their phone worked I assumed Palm was right and it was the MS OS. Combine that with the launch of the Sync System and Microsoft's well known history of forcing exclusivity it made sense.
In any event, it works like a charm now.

Easy Upload of contacts
You can export all your contacts from Outlook (presuming you sync with outlook) as individual Vcards. To do this select the contacts then "actions" then send full contact. This will place your contacts into an email message. Insert your storage card into the PC. Drag and drop them from the email message onto the storage card (SD).Plug the storage card into your PCMCIA slot in the dash.
Then sync your phone with the car. Then in the phone view go to address options and import from external, then select storage card. (this is going by memory) so the car menu paths might not be great, but I know I had to link my phone with the car first. This way I am able to sync 400 contacts with my car in about 2 minutes.

Sync Contacts
Do a serch for my name. I have posted several way to sync your contact using memory card, Vcard, and PC
You can also buy a bluetooth adapter for your laptop. I have a kennsington -paired no problem. Select the contacts in outlook that you want to sync and send to head unit.
