The HOLD function

The HOLD fonction, in the E Class, allows you to take off your foot from the break pedal when the car is at full stop.

Can anyone tell me if is it also present on the new C Class ?

TIA

You do realise that this is a predominantly US forum. You are from EU and cars there have different equipment than available in the US. Why not check with your local?

Yes, it is present in the new C-class here in the U.S. However, it only holds for about 3 seconds when you're on a steep slope.

Really? I could've sworn I Felt the car being held for a few seconds on hills.

I'll have to check it out on my way home ... don't normally sit around on a hill for 3 sec without a foot on either the brake or the gas.

My e90 had it and it was a life saver since it was a manual tran ... can't see it being of that much in an automatic.

The Hold feature on the previous SBC system is different than Hill Start Assist.

Sorry, I re-read the first post .... it didn't cross my mind that someone would want to take their foot off the brake after they'd come to a complete stop.

That would be wicked cool; I find it easier to drive a clutch in heavy traffic so that I can take some of the pressure off my right leg (knee surgery) ... too many years of clutch, I can't bring myself to left foot brake.

^ really? Have to try it on my mothers 500. It seems like a useless function tho... unless you just had reconstuctive knee surgery.

iirc, you're in Florida where everything is flat except for the women. Try doing stop and go traffic in the mountains and you'll love it.

As someone who's previously had reconstructive knee surgery ....

If I could just convince someone else, preferably an automotive transmission product development engineer, that 'automatic creep' sucks. Life would be great if torque converters were able to fully disengage or had an internal brake so that idle didn't induce creep.
