E85?

I read somewhere that the c300 takes E85 gasoline mix... True?

didnt mean to bust your chops It's my understanding that 4Matics don't take E85.

The website and the sales brochure both state that E85 will only work on C300 vehicles with RWD and AT.

Yes, I've put E85 in mine before. Worked fine, but I not going to again cause I'm big on calculating my MPG, and Ethanol really messes up your MPG.

2008 C350 & other fine MB products
C300 ONLY
Not the C350. The C350 is 100% fossil fuel only.

Does anyone know why this is? I understand that only the 3.0 engine is designed for this fuel, but why does the transmission and/or drive configuation matter?
