Air bag labels
I want to remove those ugly yellow airbag labels from the sun visors. Anybody have any success doing so? A few tentative dabs with 3M adhesive remover proved that won't do it. Perhaps Goo Gone?
I thought it would be best to remove the sun visors to a safe place for label removal but after popping off the covers around the bases, no fasteners are visible.

Unlike the older air bag decals found on late 80's and early 90's vehicles (which were easily removed by consumers), new gov regulations have forced auto manufacturers to either iron or screen the warnings onto place, thus making them "tamper proof". Conventional removal methods such as rubbing alcohol, or a heat gun don't work very effectively In fact they dont work at all, and you'll end up doing more damage to the surface to which it has been adhered to than anything good.
Option one, I have however seen some people actually slice them off using xacto like knives. You will need a steady hand, and a lot of patience.
Option two, is to get the Euro or import spec counter part (if they have one), which depending on the auto manufacturer (and country of origin / destination) may not have the label or it just may be an easily removed decal.
Option three, since most of these warnings are usually on visors, you can opt to cover it up by "reskining" the entire piece (visor) with color matched leather, cloth, suede or whatever else tickles your fancy. The end result will look trick (set you apart from the rest) and you'll do away with those unsightly warnings. I saw this done on a bimmer who opted to bling his head liner in suede and had his visors covered to match...

I removed mine by heating gently with a hairdrier and then I had to use Rubbing alcohol to remove residue. It was extremely messy and a pain in the a$$ but definitely worth it. I will warn you to take your time if you try it. If you heat up too much- the fabric (vinyl) will stretch out of shape. If you dont heat up enough- the clear top coat label pulls off but the graphics will be left behind in a sticky frickin mess.

I've removed mine, but it took over an hour and it was very messy and labor intensive.
I first peeled the clear plastic layer off, then I removed as much of the printed label -- it comes off in many pieces, so you will need to pick away at it.
I thought rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone will speed up the process, but it didn't help much. I also resorted to heating the adhesive with a hair dryer and started to rub the remaining adhesive with my fingers so that it clumps into a large ball which I removed by sticking high adhesive duct tape to the piled goop repeatedly until all the adhesive goop is gone.
I'm happy that the label is gone as it was very large and stood out like a sore thumb in the all black interior.

<<I heard it was illegal to remove those?>>
There are a lot of things dealers cannot do due to federal regs which do not apply to the car owner.
Off they come.

Dah?
<<It's Dah for Leave them alone>>
Yeah, well, if you have one of the standard black interiors it doesn't matter much but I have $1550 worth of beige leather and they look like bloody hell.
Dah.

Man, sounds like a pain in the $#@... I'd love to get mine removed but I don't think I have the patience for it. New CD & DVD's make me punch things...

I have the Saks C350 and it has limited edition leather interior and I don’t care about the stickers, if they bother you so much, remove them and stop crying about it.

Who frickin cares?!
They aren't that noticeable if you have a light colored interior. If you have the black- they stuck out like a sore thumb. I took mine off and I'm very glad I did.
