Its been 3 months since I am looking for the exhaust tips for my C180 Dual silencer. Here's the story.

I order my car in March 2007. I wanted the chrome exhaust tips which were like 51 euros option. The dealer told me when the car comes in he will put it on and i will pay cash for it then. No need to order it with the car.

i got the delivery on November 7th and the dealer had an excuse for not putting the chrome tips as the car comes with dual silencer and the one MB has is one single oval shaped chrome tip which you see standard on C300 or C350 in US.

I had to change all the exhaust for around maybe 400 Euros + Chrome tip. The dealer was not sure about the price and i did not want to pay 500+ for such a minor option. He told me if someone else does it he will let me know how much it actually costs. But after 3 months and one trip to dealership last week to call me back, he never rang me. I am going to fill in a bad survey anyway for his RUBBISH service which i got from MB a few weeks back.

I have been to other dealers but no one knows about chrome for c180 dual silencer. RUBBISH!

this last dealer sent me to the MB service department. They had the chrome dual tips but they wanted to me to come back after 30 mins cose it was the lunch break. After I came back again they tried struggling with it for 20 mins , and said this wont fit. now they gonna check with Germany if its even available for c180..

Anyone knows if there are chrome tips for C180?? My exhaust is 5.3CM in diameter. there are 2 of them . should I go for custom ones . or how to check if there are chrome tips for c180?

I think so? I know what you are looking for, as so am I, I have yet to find them. Those measurments are same as mine. Its hard, but I saw someone in LA with them, so. I dont know if he had them custom done. If you find out please please let me know where u got them. no stainless steel, lol only chrome.

C280 is C300 not C180. C180 is 2.0 Engine with a Turbo.

Anyway I am looking for the exhaust tips If I find them I will let you know. My silencer looks like this. OO ... Two exhaust outlets at same spot.

ACTUALLY A 1.8L with a supercharger.

nope its 2.0 with reduced HP and a super charger/turbo what ever you wana call it.

1.8 and 2.0 engine is same as far as I was told.

Edit: My mistake.. Its 1.8 liter engine in both C180 and C200. I was doing the vice versa. Common mistake.

A supercharger is driven directly by the crankshaft while a turbocharger is driven by exhaust gases.

For those contemplating fitting a supercharger as a means of performance enhancement, whose knowledge of its operation is small, this is how a supercharger works. Put simply, supercharger is an air pump that forces air into the engine. As the power of an engine is dependent upon the volume of air that can be fueled and burnt in the cylinders, supercharging is a vastly superior method of induction than allowing the engine to suck its fill of air, as even with the most efficient engine it will not suck enough to fill the cylinders. A supercharger is similar to turbocharger insofar as it acts as an air pump; the crucial difference being a supercharger is a mechanically driven pump whereas the turbocharger uses the power of hot exhaust gases to power the pump.
