Initial result: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliability

Thanks to the help of this forum's members, TrueDelta received 21 responses covering 48 months of ownership for the 2008 C-Class. This was barely above the minimum needed for even an asterisked result. (25 responses and 75 months needed for an "official" result.)

Even this limited number of responses was informative, though, as not one of these 21 owners reported a completed repair. This is unusually good for a European car.

The analysis covered through the end of 2007. Any repairs that were completed in January or February won't be included until the next update, in May. (Some have been reported, including a cracked cylinder head.) With TrueDelta's process, we'll be able to report any change in repair rates soon after it happens.

The results also include an average repair rate for the GL-Class, suggesting that Mercedes might have substantially improved reliability with its most recent designs.

Others won't have reliability info on the 2008 C-Class until June or even October. Everyone who has been participating -- thanks for helping TrueDelta provide this information first, by a wide margin.

More participants are very much needed. If you haven't already, you can join by following a link on the results page.
