Is it possible to have a normal aux input cable and the ipod kit? I have other devices I'd rather use (not terribly impressed with the ipod integration) but I'm hoping that doesn't mean I have to rip out the ipod kit to use it? Anyone know?

I think the problem is there isn't enough room in that hole on the side of the glove compartment for both cables to pass through, so they leave the cable with the AUX socket hidden behind the compartment. Assuming you widen the whole or find another workaround, I think you would just have to disconnect the ipod and plug your other device into the AUX IN socket.
