Deeper dish = Easier damage?

I just picked up my C350 4matic. I am using a set of non-staggered 17" AMG rims for my winters up here in Toronto, leaving my staggered 18" AMG for summer tires. I noticed that in both AMG rims, they did not design a deeper dish for the wider wheel. When I had my C43, the 17" that came with it had a small dish for the rear wider wheels and no dish for the front narrower ones. I used these for the winter and had a set of 18" Brabus 3 piece for the summer. These have deeper dishes. I had the front Brabus wheels repaired for warpage at one point. Here in northern Toronto(Thornhill), it is "pothole city".
My question is, do deeper dish wheels get warpage easier than no-dish wheels when going over potholes (not that I would deliberately go over them) accidentally? I thought Brabus is a good Mercedes aftermarket brand. No, the ones I had were not imitations, they were authentic Brabus.

Any opinions?

Good question, I don't know the answer but you could ask on the tire forum

It does not matter what wheels you have "deep or not deep dish" if you hit a bigger pot-hole you will most likely damage the tire or wheel. Here are some pics of my wheel when I hit a pot-hole on the Toll-way I294 N/B....I made a Police Report and guess what no one has paid for my damages.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but while we are talking about wheel damage. Has anyone had trouble with damaging their factory 18" wheels? I am getting these on my car when it's delivered, and starting to worry about the 40 and 35 series tires.

Wheel repairs

Most likely that wheel was repairable. Last October (one week before the new car was delivered) I hit a deep hole with my C320's RR wheel bending the inner lip up about an inch. This was an 8 1/2 X 17 chromed AMG monoblock. Repaired to perfection for $140. I too sent a bill to the city (owner of the hole, after all) and they blew it off.

Don't think I don't remember this little episode when dodging holes with my 18s on the new car.
