Lightbulb Gas Icon

So i was testing my gas range out today.. trying to see how many miles i can get out of a single tank... I put 93 octane all the time... after the reserve fuel icon can on, i cleared it out and got the range which was about 30mi left with my cruise set at 65mph straight.

After i think 25 mi on the range i got this icon:

Its a pretty nice pic of the c class... not so clear b/c i was driving while taking the pic.

Here is my fuel level right b4 fill up:

And finally heres my range after fill up:

I drove a total of 291.5 miles on the tank before i filled it up. and this included some city miles in it (stop and go).

Im curious as to know what the regular users get in comparison to what i got.

p.s. pics were taken with my bb curve.. sorry there so big!

I'm getting about 385 miles per tank, running over 26 mpg on average ... I do a lot of highway driving and sometimes see 30 on the "since start" screen. Mostly it drops to about 27.5 or so after a mile or so on city streets, up a hill, etc.

Just driving around without freeway I get about 20.1 or so.

C-300, 92 octane (we don't get the 93 or above stuff out here). I've not got over 5300 miles on the car. Still using winter blend gas, looking forward to summer blend when I will get better mileage from the gas.

If I were doing all freeway, I think I'd be getting about 405 miles per tank or so.

(Note: to get good freeway mileage you need to have at least 30+ miles of freeway traffic w/o stop and go. I'm driving somewhere between 60 and 75 depending on traffic and cops.)

There is a couple of threads one about the gas refuel reminder icon and the other about gas mileage, (mpg) go to search.
I’m getting about 286 miles per tank and average of 19 miles per gallon mostly city mileage (streets)

Still waiting for the summer blend gas, but here's today's fill up. 416.2 miles on the tank, 26.4 mpg. Not what I used to get with an Accord, but not bad for this car.

Now if the cost of gas could stabilize lower than $4 / gal .... Maybe below $2? Man, I can only remember, and wish.

And yeah, it's not diesel .... ;-(

Holy snikeys!

I'm lucky to hit 250 on a tank. But I only live 8 miles from work so even if I'm using the freeway it's only for a few minutes.

On the Seattle to Portland run I got 28 once (the same trip I was able to get 30-31mpg with my 330i).

The low gas icon would be funnier if they showed some guy with a gas can with just his legs moving as if he's walking.

wow, 416 miles....that is like 100 miles more than mine

My last full tank was 298 miles...and 90 % highway miles with like granny style driving. of average speed of 60 mph

I know the elevation, driving style plays a role in the mileage consumption difference, but didn't expect to see such a big difference. 100 miles...

you can defiently get 10 city miles...

with that gas light on, my friend took my car with the light on, usually you can hi ok, scroll one up on the up arrow and see your distance you have left on a tank, well it was to the point that it would not do that, just show that little icon of gasstation fill, anyhow, he took it like that not knowing, and drove what we def know to be 10 miles, and then filled up after calling asking if these FANCY cars have a backup tank LOL. But i wouldnt press it. Saw that happen to a guy recently in a new sl65 on santa monica and melrose, I mean I herd his car gurrgle and shut off, and then he tried to restart, nothing.. he pushed it to the side... i helped! felt bad.. LOL

Too much like that episode of Seinfeld when Cramer wanted to see just how far you could drive a car with the needle on empty.
