C300 service intervals.
hey guys, great forum
i've been part of the bmw camp for the longest time, and am now considering a C300! this is a complete departure for me, as i drove mostly M3's in the past, but i'm ready for something more practical and not as expensive.
am i correct in assuming that service is not included as is the case with bmw? if so, what are the service intervals on the C300 and should i expect to pay per visit. i'm in canada, by the way, if that makes any difference.
cheers!

i've been part of MB camp for a long time... yes service is not included. std interval is 20,000km for C300. they do away the flexible service for W204.

Big difference from the E46 M3 to the C300. I had a 2003 E46 M3 Vert and miss it, but I also needed something practical for the baby so the C300 4matic was a decent alternative although the e90 M3 sedan has piqued my interest.
Good luck with your potential purchase!

The FSS, or Flexible Service System, was the norm for a number of model years in the late '90s and early '00s. It used a computer program to determine the appropriate service intervals based on number of cold starts, outside ambient temps, average speeds, rpm, etc. BMW and others still use versions of this approach, but MB went back to fixed mileage / time intervals a few years back.
They claim it's simpler; most of us believe it's the difference between who pays for service during the warranty period. Whatever....
