Question keyless Go for non-keyless Go ?

Hi Guys was wondering if it would be possible to add Keyless Go if our unit didn't came with it as standard.

I know at the moment Keyless Go is not option for USA but on other parts of the world you can get Keyless Go with the w204 C-Class.

Just curious.

Unlikely a simple and cost effective mod.

This is what I found from the US version (none keyless model), internally, The key is no longer tie to the starter motor. Actually the ignition key works more like push button except tuning not pushing. What I'm saying is that after you turn the key to start the engine, you don't have to wait for the engine ignition. You can simply let go the key anytime after the turn. you don't even have to wait for the starter motor to crank the engine. Simply turn the key and let go right away. Then, the car computer receives the ignition signal and initiates the engine start sequence by itself.

US cars with smartkey have been that way for years. I would seriously doubt that adding keyless go will be an inexpensive experience.

May be possible if you or the dealership is willing to mess with it for a good amount of time. Certainly not cost effect since you will have to get a new EIS since the non keyless go will not acknowledge the push button, several antennas in the vehicle, along with modules and wire harnesses. Keyless go isn't just a simple see key let engine start process. At least not with MB it isn't.

I asked about this before at MB, it would cost thousands and the techs recommended get a car with it. Not worth the time or trouble so I made sure to get a CLS with it.
