(Canadian) Price up for sports package of 2009y C230/4MT

Hi guys...

I just came back from one of Dealer shops in OTTAWA.

** Sports package : AMG style body kit

A dealer said that price of Sports Pack(now Cdn$800) would be up to cdn$1200 and most options could be up priced.

Is it true???

Anybody knows about it??

In August, Audi B8 A4 will be come out...then can the discount for its 08/09y C class models be dropped down in dealing with a delaer?
because, if I order now then delivery date will be in July for 08Y model..but 09y model will be available in August.
So Im thinking to wait till Audi B8 A4 comes out.

Now, MB C-class is the best selling model but competitor B8 A4 would come out then I think its discount range could be bigger than now...

Am I wrong????

I'm not sure on Canadian pricing, but it could be they will be receiving the same price increase the U.S. got, which amounts to about $800 dollars U.S. so $1200 Canadian is probably close to that. As for discounts, they are already discounting the C class anywhere from $1500 - $3000 depending on options and where you get it of course. The new A4 won't have any effect on the C class pricing, not the mention the A4 won't be offering any discounts what so ever when it first arrives.

Why would canadian pricing receive the same increase as US, the base MSRP on all models is already higher as it is, and the dollar is almost at par

C300 sport $32,435 (US)
C300 sport $41,000 (Canada)

Dollars almost the same, us economy falling, and cars being shipped from overseas (a ship stoppinh to US, and to Canada is not a big deal)

I don't know what the US market is like re discounts on new cars but here in the UK I was offered a discount on the new A4 before the launch date.

You can thank the price of oil for the increase. The increase is in the shipping charges and it would make sense to see the price go up everywhere, not just for the states. The higher the price of oil, the more they have to pay for transportation costs, they just pass it on to the consumer eventually.
