WARNING: Back windows
Don't roll just your back windows down at 70 mph. I thought the car was going to blow apart. This happens with most cars but seems more intense in the C300.

We also have to remind people not to open the doors of the jet at 35,000 feet 
I have traveled on the turnpike (75-80) with all windows and the sunroof open and I didn't think it was that bad. Was it windy outside?

My dad told me about this when I was 6 and curious why the car was making that noise, and I learned the physics behind the phenomenon later on in school. So I understand why this thunderous thumping sound happens... but this sound in the w204 seems especially more thunderously thumping than in any other car I've ridden before. It DOES sound like the car's about to blow up when just the rear window (only one, left or right) is open.

It doesn't happen all the time. It all depends on if the setting is right with the pressure and everything. If it's just right, opening a window can be intense. However, this can happen in lots of cars. I think the MB is sealed very well, so it gives it a good chance of happening.
