Different engine in C-class??

Hello All...
What is the Difference between US and Canada C-class vs German/Mexican engine in the C-class?

According to US / CA Merc webpages, the engine is 268HP... ok?
http://www.mbusa.com/models/features...0WZ&class=08_C
http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/index.cfm?id=6131

BUT...................

The mexican Webpage and German page, the engine is 272HP
http://www2.mercedes-benz.com.mx/con...dels.0006.html

I know, is only 4HP...
Any idea?

The same happened with the old BMW M3, in US was 333HP... and Germany / Mexican was 343HP

Best Regards.

a quarter mile at a time
different emmissions requirements means the cars are tuned a bit different and may have slightly different parts in the exhaust system. Engines are basically the same.

Different octane may boost HP ratings, and I'm sure MB would calculate the HP with the highest available octane gas in a given area.

If you look and STFF you will find that different countries adapt different ways of calculating/converting these figures. U.S. uses a different std than Germany for example.
