Front Grill

Hey There,

I was wondering how much is the front grill for the W204 (if I wanted to buy an extra one), what is the part number and are they identical to the ones that come from the factory? (If I get them through the parts department).

Lastly, does anyone here know how to paint them (like paint the fins of the grille black but leave the chrome on the tip and for the star?) and would anyone do it for me if I paid them?

Thanks!

Daniel

The Sport grill part number is A204 880 00 23 9776. The price varies from dealer to dealer.

Of course they are identical.

MBusa website has a quote of $200 bucks for the sport grill conversion kit, figure somewhere in that neighborhood.

I just got my Performance Products catalog and they sell for $159.00. I bought a spare from eBay. They also have the lux version with the star in the middle for $279. Many folks have painted the Sport black. I am in the process myself. I started using engine paint because I had great success with it on plastic Volvo engine trim parts, but it came out too shiny. I re-scuffed it and I am going to use hood/ bumper paint. I removed the chrome first:

thanks for the reply guys. another quick note, how many people think this is a good idea? I'm afraid in a way that it might make the front grill part of my car less noticeable and thus not as flashy but then it looks damn nice since it matches the rest of the car (for black cars)

I have Arctic White, and in my opinion, it cleans up the front. I want the top grille to be black like the lower grilles.

Thanks.

It's white. I'll get pics up when it, and my clear bumper markers are installed.

I will have them soon. The company that is making them is going to use my car for their ad. Once installed, I will be permitted to tell everyone where to get them from. I beilieve they plan to do smoked as well. Mine set is the first, so they are still gearing up.

I thought I was going to leave my gill alone since it was almost a perfect match to the body color. The more I look at it- the more I want it black. More aggressive look
