need your opinion on tinted tails
I'm going forward on getting my tail lights tinted in a couple weeks (just after getting my windows tinted 27% and a full front end clear bra'ed). It will be done by jonstintedtails.com whom did my previous car and it looks just like new even after more than 6 years of wear and extensive detailing. The tint is not a film but a permanent paint process.
I can't decide whether I want the entire tail light tinted or just the red portion. Here is my car currently: http://www.alanowong.com/w204spoiler3.jpg Option 1: just the red portion tinted in a light/medium tint http://www.alanowong.com/w204tailtint02.jpg Option 2: the entire tail light tinted in a light/medium tint http://www.alanowong.com/w204tailtint01.jpg Option 3: just the red portion tinted in a medium/dark tint http://www.alanowong.com/w204tailtint03.jpg what do you think? |
i like the light/med tint on the red portion only....nice subtle difference and not over-done IMO.

Sorry, but I like the original color of the tailights better.
Seems like a better accent than the deeper shades of the same color. |
I smoked my tail lights with a medium tint and I love it :y. Highly recommend

Darker tint just the red. That's the way I have mine tinted, not painted.

I would like to see how they turn out. |
I tinted my head lights with the lamin-x film and was considering the tail light films they offer. I can't decide either:nix:

option 3 :y

In my opinion, original factory color is best. Sorry to disappoint you, but that's just my 2 cents. Happy tinting :)

i say go with light/medium tint option 1. gives it that i'm tinted but not over done look. would go with option 1 :y:y

i must agree. but then again, i've never been a huge fan of smoking/tinting tails

I like option 1.

looks like no one likes the all tinted option. Then again the clear backup lights do match the silver paint nicely.
I think I will go with the medium tint only on the red portions so that it will tone down the red and make the exterior cleaner and more monochromatic. I wanted a dark cherry color like what Jon did on this A4: http://www.jonstintedtails.com/galle...tn_med_a20.jpg Thanks again for your opinions! :y I will have my window tint, tails tinted, new wheels, Polarg interior lighting and debadging done in the next couple weeks and I'll definitely take pics. |
option #1
|
option 3 is what im doing..its definitely the best hands down..i have a STEEL gray color..so it fits well..going with gun metal cl65 amg wheels as well.
|
Light tint on the entire light.
