So you still have to wash it?!

Yes..I did it to my Lexus LS400 and my Infiniti FX35. I wash it, dry it, and it looks showroom new. I was very skeptical at first...but this is my third vehicle with this process.

Look at my lexus two weeks before I sold it. It is a 13 year old car in these pictures and I never waxed it one time. No joke

It sounds like BS.....I know...but it is the real deal. They do like 5 cars per day...Mercedes, Lexus, Corvettes, A8's...I have seen it all over there.

I'd rather wax once or twice a year... and it only cost me $20 for the wax.

After getting that done... do you have to spray or apply anything on it every 6 months to renew the sealant?

I doubt that it would hold up so well in areas where we get snow, and the road crews spread calcium chloride that sticks to everything.

You'd be surprised...they put treated metal pieces through some accelerated aging using heat, chemicals and they hold up very well.

I'll bet money mine would be equal or even better then your finish and I spent a considerable lot less then you did.

All permafinish is a normal polish/sealant available at your auto store. But if you wanna justify paying almost $340 for it... be my guest.

I've had a number of people including my sales guy at MB along with other people I know that works at dealerships and say its a complete rip off.

No offense to the OP, but I have to agree with jo17C203. I have been detailing cars for a while, and have yet to see a permanent sealant live up to the claims. I have actually used one of these products at one time. Trust me, if you knew how much the product cost, you would never pay $350 to have it done.

There is one process that comes very close. It's called the Ming Mirror Finish. It's not a coating but a paint smoothing (buffing) process. I was very skeptical about it until I had it done to a black car that had a considerable amount of swirls and even some scratches. Back then, Ming guaranteed the cars that had it done wouldn't need waxed for 3 years. The guarantee did not apply to black cars. I had it done in Rochester Minnesota at Truckin' America right off of Rte. 52.

It's all good.

I came in to share what I had done to my car...and not to defend it's merit. I have had it PERSONALLY done to 2 previous vehicles and it 100% stands up to what it says it does. This is NOT what dealers are pushing...this is a patented chemical product that has been applied to vehicles and aircraft since 1974. I watched them do it to a $87,000 Porsche. I showed you my 13 year old Lexus that had NEVER been waxed one time in the eight years that I owned it http://www.hazemonster.com/lexus and yet you still try to discredit it. That's ok...I am happy with my decision.

5 years from now, I will still have that showroom shine..WITHOUT waxing!

(Again..this is NOT what dealerships try to push on you. This is NOT a coating...but a chemical that bonds with the paint.)

Keep on waxing....there are some great waxes out there..that's for sure. I just don't want to go through the trouble of doing it myself, or paying someone $125 to detail my car.

That statement could not be further from the truth. It is NOT a polish or coating...but you can keep on thinking that it is.

I assumed it was the same stuff that the dealer tries to push... A lot of dealers here in socal push a product called Perma-Plate which is just that a polish/sealant.
