Another lights and bulbs thread

Well, I am heading over to HMS for a long needed chill and was thinking of dropping in some bulbs for the C350. It has the xenons, but what all should I do? I like all the angel eyes and crap that the bimmers and audi guys are doing so what are we doing to our benzos? Please list me brands and part numbers if possible or at least specs, so I can ask for the right thing.

I am partial to the PIAA's. Quality product that lasts. Not so much for the benz, but in my truck, motorcycle and boat that have vibration extremes, they never burn out.

may be it is just me but I am using PIAA extreme white for my C300. I don't find it any better than the OEM, neither brighter or whiter to justified $70.

I am now thinking to just go get a 6000K HID kit and then replaced the fog or may be even the high beam with this "Super White Krypton":

$3.50 each and it is in stock voltage.

What are you wanting to upgrade - the dipped or main headlights?

We made a whole list of the possible bulb types and where they go in the vehicle, look it up before you start a new post. People on the boards made it super easy by contributing and one member runs some sort of website, I believe his name is James@Creative who sells ready-to-go bulb packages for our cars, both interior and exterior.

Can I ask avery newbie question. What does the 'bi' in bi-xenons mean?
I thought it meant that both the dipped and main headlights are xenons.
But I have just realised that on the W204, only the dipped are xenons (D1S). Even when you have the xenon package, the main headlights are always halogen (H7). Why is that? I'm pretty sure the BMWs have got xenons on both.

I dunno either. The E is also bi-xenon and it is just the low beams.

You can upgrade all. This is what I've gathered from other threads to be the main bulb types.

D1S for low beam if Xenon
H7 for non-xenon low beam and high beam in all cases
H7 or H11 for the front fogs
W5W (194 or 168) for the parking eye lids

I'm going to start with the eyelids as it's the easiest to do.

I suppose that you know that our W5W stock bulbs are blue tinted, so I don't know how to upgrade them to a more "led or xenon" look
PIAA Ultrawhite is not a solution as they look the same...

Yeah I know. I know a lot of people on this forum have changed to the Polarg M4, but reported that they are not significantly different to the stock.
I'm not sure if the Polarg L01 will be whiter, as it claims to give off a 15W look from the 5W bulb, by having a special convex lens.

I'll wait for somebody to report on those before I order some, as it'll cost me an extra $20 in shipping costs to the UK. So don't want to order them just to try. I've tried a few different types bought here locally, and most are again not much different to the stock ones. I'm currently using Philips Blue Vision.

I even tried some amber ones, just to be different! I may post some pics later on how those looked.

I got the Polarg for the lid and they are definitely not as bright as stock but are defintiely whiter. We are totally happy about it.
