Sirius worth it?

drive-in to work at like 8am
will be the same playlist on my way home from work.
this is the case in the ML of course, as I didnt get the sirus option in my W204, the subscription is pretty cheap however, and they do play some new content that's not even on regular radio...
i kinda regret not getting that option.
$142.45 a year
Signal drop out
Talking over songs
Comercials for other channels/contests constantly
Quality issues on some channels
Replaying of the same song quite often
While there are lots of chanels to chose from, they are too similar and find them playing the same songs on different channels.
Too many useless channels (news,comedy)

But, no, it's not really all that worth it. Even though I have it both of our cars, unless you really dig it, it's not worth it.
We won't do the DVD player thing for the kid except for on long flights, so we like the kids channels for long car trips. I like comedy and the dance channels. Most of the time though, I'll get in my wife's car and she'll have it back on free radio.
Oh, one of the really bizarre things is that we can't find a plain vanilla Top 40 station. I don't know if we're just looking at the wrong stations, but we can't find anything that matches free top 40 radio.
Yeah, and then there's the thing where it cuts out on streets with trees, or under bridges.

I must say, though, that listening to people spouting off French rapidly for 45 minutes each way can lead to some magnificent headaches!

Overall, however, I'm beginning to like the service. The signal loss under an overpass is only a second or three.
If you can find a channel or two you really like like that, it is worth it.
It's also useful to stay up to date with things. For example, I've used CNN many times during this election year, and I can hear all the great crew I watch on TV.
Finally, if you're into sports and you had to be on the road someday during a game or something, you might find it useful for that too, since they cover a lot of sports.
The main reason to get sirius (or xm) is the content. Since FM radio is basically 20-30 stations all playing the same crappy songs, sirius offers a far better (but not perfect) selection.
The major change will come when the FM station owners decide how they want to use the additional bandwidth gained by switching to digital radio. This will allow them to have multiple stations at far better quality that sat radio for the cost of one conventional analog station. If they decide to offer up better programming then digital radio could be the way to go in the future.
And since I'm buying this new benz, I plan on keeping it for a LONG time :-)
