Im one of the "lucky" ones so far with

$3.99 per gallon premium ( not so sure how much it would be too fill up? )

New Jersey and getting about 20 MPG at best mix city/hwy mileage.

Ok, so far, the most expensive country is Australia @ $170 for a tankful, followed by the UK @ $160k.
These 2 are in a league of their own.
On average, US is about $65 and Cananda $85.
I don't know what you North American people are complaining about.

Would be interesting to hear from our friends on continental Europe. Come on guys.

Around $70.00 for 92 octane here on Long Island if I stay on the South Shore toward the Nassau border. Head east or north and the prices skyrocket.

Still better value than petrol as I regularly obtain 1000km from a tank.

So, the winner is Australia.
That's the price you Aussies pay for living under a glorious weather all year round. Not that I'm jealous or anything.

I never put in more than 30 dollars of gas in the car, regardless of the gas prices. More trips to the gas station, but I can save 10-20 bucks a week. It's not a big deal to me because there is a gas station on the way to work and back. Hell it's literally a minute drive from my house.

Edit: I use Chevron or Shell, 91 octane (R+M method)

I know you are saving on weight, but does it really make that much of a difference - I mean it's only like an extra 30-40 litres of fuel, about 6 gallons. Can't be much of a weight saving surely.
I normally fill mine up to the brim, and use it all the way up until I'm pretty much running on vapours only! It's kinda playing russian roulette with the fuel gauge light. Only then will I get my big lazy backside to the petrol station to re-fill.

You do realize your only saving like a dollar or 2 max by doing this right? I mean there is no difference by filling up a little or by filling up all the way except for the minor weight difference. (Which is really minor)

I don't let my tank get below a quarter empty since I heard it's nopt healthy for the car to let it go too low often.

Can someone explain to me how is it not good for the car if you let your gas runs all the way down verus filling it up at the half way or quarter tank?

I thought its good to get rid of old gas thats currently in your gas tank before filling it up again with new ones?

Being a liquid, the fuel will always mix, so there is no such thing as 'old gas' in the tank. The view, held by some, to never run on near empty, is because there may be some particles of impurities in the tank that would always float on top of the fuel. The pump draws in from the bottom, so never really draws these particles in the fuel pump - unless of course, it's pumping the last drops of fuel, and may then be sucking in all these impurities.
It's a valid theory that I know my dad used to believe in in the 70s. Not sure if the fuel pumps of modern cars would really be severely or even at all hampered by this. Modern cars are so fuel efficient that they can even run on fuel vapours alone to some extent.

I'd say I'm saving around dollars a week; seven, maybe. Gas is about 6.1 lbs per gallon so a full tank is about 120 lbs. That's about the weight of another hot girl in your car.

I've even told my coworker to try filling halfway and he sees one mpg increase average. His driving is mostly city too.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
Yesterday I heard OPEC is now agreeing to increase supply. Where the hell are the speculators when that news breaks? When news favors an increase in prices at the pump, they go up immediately. When the news favors lowering prices, it takes a really long time for them to come down. I call shenanigans.

Speculation =

I guess thats why crude oil was down sharply today. About 4 dollars, almost 3.5 percent.
