I purchased a new 08 C300 in December 2007, with 5000 miles on it now. The instrument panel is telling me Service A is due now, after only 6 months. I know this is because the car was manufactured 12 months ago so the car computer service reminder is based on the date of manufacture. Should I wait until December 2008 for Service A, or go now?

I'm pretty sure when I got my car they reset the indicator cause it told me 365 days and continued on days until my mileage started exceeding the 12 month frame, when it started counting down in miles instead.

I checked the indicator when I first purchased and it said Service A due in 180 days, so I know the dealer did not reset the time.

Does anyone know if Service A due date should be based on date of manufacture or date of purchase?

The service interval is every 12 months or 13,000 miles.

My car indicator is reminding Service A based on 12 months time, but I only owned the car for 6 months and have 5000 miles on it.

The dealer should reset it or something then. It isn't due until December.

Your dealer didn't reset the indicator when your vehicle was delivered.
