When Getting Rims

Hey Guyz,

I was looking to purchase some rims for my c300. But I found out there is not much choice for 17" (didn't want to change my summers). My question is when you guyz purchased your rims did you buy new sensors. There are about $120 here in Canada from the dealer. (please post if you find anywhere online cheaper. So my deal is go higher than 17" and use my current summers for winter. State your opinion

Thanx

I swapped my sensors, But if you want to have two sets of rims you probably will wan't to have two sets of sensors in order to avoid having to take your tires all the tires of the rims and re-mount and balance 8 sets of wheels each time you do a switch. That can be annoying. Whereas if you have 8 totol individual sensors you can do the switch in your garage. All you need is the wheel lock key, a jack and a tire iron.

If I'm right Canadian C model don't have TPMS sensors.
The C in Canada only check the speed rotation of each wheel to determine if one wheel rotate faster.

Whats with the ""? In fact we do have some sort of pressure monitoring system as I looked in my wheel's yesterday and saw 2 or 3 square indents on each rim.? I'll try to take a pic tomorrow but I think it's MB canada's version of the TPMS.

hey, I'm pretty sure the Canadian version C class does have the pressure monitoring system. On the dashboard computer there is a menu for tire pressure monitoring system!

I had them take the sensors out of my old rims and stuck them in the new ones. I dont plan on switching out rims like you guys do because i live in S. Cali. I think tirerack.com sells the sensors, have you tried checking there for pricing?

I'll take a pic of my sensors tomorrow morning and post them up. I think their sensors, they look like 3 square indents on the inside of the wheel rim with some writing on it.

TPMS sensors are located inside the rims.

They look like that:

I own a B200T and it also have an indirect tire monitoring system I suspect the Canadian C to have the same system.

Ahh ok, so it must be some other type of sensor. Maybe those sensors are the passive tire monitoring?

I think those are the small weight they glue to the rim to balance the wheel...

I bet it has to do with the weather being so cold... Maybe the pressure is allways going to be too low and sensors will allways be RED in your DASH LOL!!! Sorry had to say it!
