I'm finally getting off my duff and buying new wipers; never thought I'd have to replace wipers on a german car at 6500 miles ... my last car (BMW) went 28k and the wipers still worked perfectly and had never been replaced ... sadly, they would've been free if if they did need to be replaced. Actually this will only be the second time out of six cars I've had to replace wipers on. Just another thing for me to nit-pick on with this car.

I'm sure Mercedes will want $70 for wipers plus $90 labor to replace them for me, all the while insisting they do it because I might get myself dirty, or it's way too complicated for a regular joe like me to do.

So I'm looking for a source of parts online. Anybody know any? Anybody replaced their own aftermarket? How'd that turn out?

(btw, they look like they're the new Bosch Icon blades, but their site doesn't have a part #)

Might sound silly but have you triued cleaning them with rubbing alcohol? I've done this many times in the past.with good results.

 

Not alcohol, but I used stoners invisible glass to clean the windshield and the blades. Not operational difference. Still the same loud noise and 1/4" streak in front of my face where it doesn't clear any water.

ManchesterMerc - that's for W203 ... think they'd still be the same?

Doubt if they would be the same but you never know. If you go into the site and look at places to buy you get a choice of options i.e you can choose to search for a specific product around your area or all areas but you need to put in your zip code and this will give you the outlets, so you can ask the question.
