Hello Everybody!
How's everyone doing?
I am currently trying to decide on which car I want, I have 2 cars in mind:
2008 MB C350 White w/18" AMG wheels, P2 pkg., Multimedia PKG.
-OR-
2009 Infiniti G37 Coupe 6MT Ivory Pearl(White) with Premium Pkg.
I'd love to hear your opinions.

We currently own a 2006 MB ML350, and the new car is going to be my DD cuz the gas mileage on the ML sucks so I'll use that in the winter.
What does the C350 have over the G37

for some people here ..they always mention : MB is MB,...im getting tired of this slogan .., we should be fair in other way to help somebody out with their choices. In this case i will pick the G37 MT over C350 for its ride quality, performance , and styling ...G37 is a true luxury sport car with everything you want .mor fun than C350 ...go test drive G37, you can find what you need ...

The MB will be better engineered and better put together than the Infiniti. For simple “speed” the Infiniti will be faster, but the C350 is much more a car you want to drive, especially for racking up the miles. I recently took a road trip with a friend in his G35 6MT coupe (the interior of which we has previously dis and re assembled, and we were both shocked as to the poor material quality), and I have never experienced so much driver fatigue (since I always took my cars in the past, the bar was set high). The new C is an extremely well engineered car, and is composed at any speed. I had a W204 C320CDI as a service loaner in Europe, and I was so happy with the car I took a day trip with it.

like what i have said ..C350 is kinda relaxable , comfortable car.., G37 is on another lague .., fast, quick response, well equipped , and fun to drive ...!!!..if you complain about interior quality , you should blame MB for what they have done on C-class ..i dont think infiniti has bad interior finished....have you ever looked over G37 cockpit .????..

I was also comparing the G35 sedan and the C sedan before I purchased. BMW was out of the question because the I hate the design of the sedan.
I ended up choosing the C class for its looks. Pretty much one look sealed it for me. Kinda weird, because I've always chosen cars before for their performance numbers, never for the looks. I guess I'm getting old--I don't care too much about going fast any more. One more point is that I've just spent 5 years on the VQ engine (see sig below), and wanted to try something different.
Handling and suspension, on the other hand... I'll never tire of. Which reminds me, when the hell is someone going to put out some decent coilovers for the C class? When I ask that, I'm ignoring the KW V3... it's a little too extreme for a street app, it looks like. Could be just me though. Anyone get 'em yet?

But in all seriousness, the C300/C350 will have better mileage than the G37 if you're looking for that. Other than that, if you don't care too much about performance, the G35/G37 isn't too comfortable after a while of driving. The C Class is very comfortable. One problem is though, in your case, you may want performance than comfort since you have your ML350.
And welcome to the forum.

I know someone who crashed their car because of this problem. Nothing better than trying to rip it, brake a short time later, and having your car lurch forward and jump in RPM's.
And then theres the: ITB07-007a. The infamous dash rattle. If you thought small noises in the C300/C350 was bad, wait until you hear this one. It sounds like someone hit the handle of a screwdriver on a table. It happens SO often and gets louder as it goes above 2500 rpm.

This sounds obviously defensive, as this is a W204 owners' forum:
I've never had ANY of the various problems/rattles/faults/troubles mentioned in this forum thus far in my ownership. 3 months and 5,000 miles.
I think the reports of various problems are a bit misleading on a forum such as this, since only those who HAVE problems will report them. People with no problems aren't going to make posts simply to say, "I have no problems so far!"
Have you been reading the G forums as well? Do they report any issues? Just curious.

I traded in a 08 G37S for a C350. All I can say is they are two different cars. If performance is what you want, G37S hands down. Steering feel is a lot better on the G37 than the Mercedes, very close to a BMW. Brake feel is also better on the G37.
However, not sure how tall you are, but do an extensive test drive on the G37 before you decide as the G37 has low head room. I can't seem to find a good enough position that my head doesn't touch the roof, and I'm 6 ft.
They are both nice cars, the C is just on the softer side, but do have great grip.

Cant compare the G37S to a C350 but I have a G37S and a CLK 430 and I can tell you that I am really impressed with the G37S. The steering is great the performance and sound are also very good, it is much faster than my 430. As far as the interior gadgets it makes my clk 430 feel ancient. It gets just as many looks as my 430 however if you want to go golf and need to transport 2 bags goodluck because you would need 2 tiny glof bags to maybe fit. I have not experienced any of the problems previously mentioned but the door handles scratch very easily but that is very minor overall.

I think the upgrade from the G35 to the G37 went backwards. The original G (no pun intended) represented affordability, performance, style, and had many "optional" features standard.
With the price increase, new (uglier) body style, and lack of improvements I can't justify it any longer - it has strayed away from what made the original G such a great car.
Anyhow, back on topic, go test drive, compare prices, and make your own decision! Good luck.
