Wheel fitment?

Does anyone know what the max width rim and tire that will fit on? I hate the stagerred feel, so I will try my rears in the front first. If that works, then I'll buy a set of rears and run them all around.

Does anyone know if the lug pattern is the same as the E55? I have a few sets of rims that I can try on just to get best fittment. By the way, I am only interested in 18" rims, NOT 19s or worse.

Wheel specs are in the owner's manual.

The lug pattern is the same for nearly all Mercedes - but offset is an issue. That's why you need to pay close attention to the specs in the manual.

I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't like staggered setups....I refuse to buy a car with staggered wheel sizes.

I saw the OEm stats, but I wondered what max width and ideal offset of wider rims is.

Staggered just lets me know I have more tire in the rear. Considering this car pushes like a cow and doesn't have the TQ to spin the rears, why not put the meat on the front?

Raising the question: what wheel / tire combination works for anyone who wants to replace the staggered setup with a non-staggered one?

I'm thinking of two benefits:
1- better tire wear because then the tires can be rotated
2- better mileage due to the rears not having to cut a broader path through the air under the car

Front track is 60.7" and rear is 60.8". If you put "front" tires on the rear, does it mean you get 60.7" rear track, or will it be narrower?

And, what is the difference in handling? Would it be noticeable at "normal" speeds (0-85 mph)?

Hold everything. i don't want to put the fronts on the rear. i want to put the rears on the front. I want more tire on the ground.
