This DIY is killer, used it tonight! Car is 4 days old to me, and I couldn't think of a better mod to do so quickly!
Bought DupliColor adhesion promoter and their universal semi-gloss enamel. For $11 I can't be happier!
Here's a small step by step from my iPhone.
This morning with brand new 5% tint all around and eyebrow

Starting to take the chrome off (patience and a small flathead... mainly patience):

Back together:

Back on and ready for action!

Can't wait for more mods! Smoked markers are ordered and on their way.
Thanks again for the trick DIY post.

Has anyone done this on a Steel Grey C300? I've seen a few with the entire grille blacked out, but none with the chrome pieces untouched. If so, pics please!!

Do you recall how many coats, time in between coats and overall how long it took to dry?

Can someone recommend a specific clear coat that is "compatible" with the VHT hood and bumper paint? I want to be able to go glossy as an option after painting with the VHT. My car is black, so I'm thinking glossy may look better, but I'm gonna go ahead and use the VHT first, regardless of which way I go.

Thanks!

I highly recommend the following for any and all spray can work:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Can-Gun-Aerosol-Spray-Can-Handle-With-Red-Full-Grip-Trigger-Car-Painting-/271950045397?hash=item3f517c60d5&item=271950045397&vxp=mtr
You can pick them up at most places that sell spray paint. Not only is it insanely more comfortable on the fingers, but I find it allows me to get a better angle and a more smooth and consistent side to side motion. Knowing how nicely they work, I would pay $10 for one of these if that's what they cost.
