Dumb question, but...

... how do you activate an iPod when you have it plugged into the Aux jack? I have a gorgeous W204 as a loaner right now, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to "switch" the source to the iPod once it's plugged in

I have never done it, but I think you need to connect your iPod to the AUX connection via the headphone jack on the iPod itself. Then on the car's radio if you press the DISC button twice; once to go to CD/MP3 mode and than a second time to go into AUX mode. You should be able to control the amount of AUX volume input from the iPod and adjust your car's volume accordingly, of course after pressing PLAY on the iPod itself...good luck

Hey, you have to use the AUX option under audio on the menu. Make sure the IPOD is already PLAYING the playlist you would like to scroll through. Then use your steeringwheel control to the aux input and you can scroll up and down through that playlist.

Coulda sworn that I tried that, but thanks, I'll definitely try it out tomorrow

Are you referring to the aux jack or the Ipod connection? And is it the base audio or the Multi media system?
I have the base audio system.
If it is the aux jack- you control everything from the Ipod (not the steering wheel). Select CD, then Aux Input
If it is the Ipod Connection cable- Plug in Ipod. Press "Call End" button on steering wheel and press up or down arrow until you see desired selection (playlist, artist etc). Press OK and enjoy.

I have a base audio system with an Ipod integration kit.
Is there a way to control your Ipod with the center control instead from the
gauge. My friend's BMW allows you to select songs from the center control, so I was just wondering if my car can do that.

Nope, it can't. Only steering wheel can control the iPod.
