Tell her that you need these shoes to drive more safely. My gf laughed at me too, at first, but relented when I told her she can choose the color. She chose red.

yeah, that's my concern right now too. I want a full matching set. Waiting for something to come out that's just like the chrome one for front AND back.

I'm thinking of installing just the fronts (since it's an easy twist-off) and pretending like the back half of the car doesn't exist.

Maybe the rears could be epoxied onto the flexable shaft or whatever is in there?

That's pretty much much what I have done. I'm 6'2 so Nobody will ever sit behind me.
If we are traveling with others- we drive our Avalanche (that things got some much room its stupid).
I was also considering the "epoxy" method. Since I already had to have the oem repaired once- I have a feeling it will happen again. Next time- I'll fix it my way. The shaft isn't flexibe where the pins attach. For some reason- instead of the same screw on as the front the rear has almost a ball/socket attachment. When the sockets cracks the ball pops out and the pin falls off.

Added Aluminum Surrounds

Just received the Aluminum Surrounds that matched the Pins. I think they are much better than stock. It was hard to get a good pic. I will post some later.

Considering I have one arm in a sling and it took my about 2 minutes- I wouldn't say it was difficult. A couple of sore fingers but its all done. Just grabbed the edges with my finger nails and persistently wiggled it until it came loose. New ones pop right in.

Yes
Take a look at the chrome ones. I am considering ordering a set of those too. The would accent nicely with the little bits of chrome around the interior.

Yea I was thinking of getting the chrome ones but am worried it is just chrome plated. Do the chrome ones have the AMG logo on them?

Saw stainless machined door lock pins on my nephew's SRT8 this weekend. They look really good. I will ask him where he got them.

Yes, they look very much the same but seems like stainless not aluminum.
I could be wrong though.

Are you doing just the front ones or all including the back doors too?

I am doing the back doors too. I have the oem pin from when they repaired my locks. I am using it to measure the inner diameter and depth required for the new Aluminum pins. I am then going to grind out the pin so it will fit and attach it with some high-strength epoxy. Mercedes has replaced both of my back door locking cables due to the pins breaking off.

I was thinking of just doing the fronts. Since my rear windows are tinted the pins are barely noticeable in the back. Do you think chrome or aluminum would look better? Aluminum would match the speedometer framing but the chrome looks damn nice haha

I think I'm leaning towards aluminum, for myself.
