Same problem Second time in a Week

I just had my car in the shop Monday to have the crappy plastic door pin replaced on my drivers side rear door. Now the passenger side broke as I was wiping the interior with a microfiber cloth. I am beyond disappointed now. I called the dealership and got an appointment for Monday and the when they verified the parts were in stock- parts department said they had "plenty" in stock due to the numerous requests for repair. I think Mercedes-Benz needs to smarten up, step in and come up with a solution rather than a temporary fix. I replaced the fronts with Aluminum pins but there is nothing available for the rear due to poor design on Mercedes-Benz's part.

Man that sucks. I haven't had one break on me yet and will be very upset if it does.

What ever you do-DON'T PULL ON THEM (at least thats what the parts manager told me). Make sure if anyone sits in the rear seats they know not to pull on them.
It is such a ridiculous design flaw people would not believe Mercedes would do something so stupid. I can understand a part breaking from abuse but that is definitely not the case here.

Can I ask what probably is a very silly question: Why does MB put in a different lock pin in the US model compared to the rest. From a manufacturing point of view, it always costs more the more different parts or small design differences you have.
I can understand the lack of power seats, auto closing windows, sunroofs etc, given the litigious culture in the US compared to the rest of the world - but door pins - come on MB?

Mine came off the week I got it. It's a bit frustrating but if it's the worse I've have to endure, then it wouldn't be bad at all.

I expect MB to issue a TSB to replace them. Hopefully they are nicer ones.
