The blackberry, the aux jack, and the w204

I just picked up a BB 8120 from T-mobile. It has the ability to be used as a MP3 player and uses a standard headphone pin for the stereo headset.

i was hoping to be able to plug the BB in to the aux jack in the glove box to listen to MP3 music and have the BB pair with the bluetooth for the phone to work hands free.

I've got the blootooth paired no problem. I hooked up the wire from the Bb to the AUX jack and music plays. But now when I receive a call and answer it the "Mic Off" pops up on the display and the caller can't hear me talking.

Any idea why this doesn't work or how to fix.

Not sure whether you ever got it working but there is a solution for this.

buy the blackberry bluetooth music gateway and plug that into your aux jack, change your media system to Aux input and now you can listen to music and navigation instructions via BT while still maintaining the ability to receive and make calls

I never did get it to work. Are you sure about the gateway thing? I looked at that online and t says the gateway allows you to wirelessly via bluetooth stream music to the car stereo once the gateway is plugged into the 3.5 pin. I don't believe the bluetooth will allow the phone to pair with more than one device at a time...so it couldn't be paired for music and telephone both at the same time...or am I missing something?

Bluetooth can handle several devices at the same time, but only one of each kind, so you can only use one BT headset for example.

So your blackberry (I have the 8310) can be connected with your car and the Blackberry Gateway at the same time.

The Gateway is powered via a USB jack in the cigarette lighter (not included). The volume on the blackberry media player is slightly louder then the GPS, I use nav4all, so I have the gps at 100% and the media player slightly lower so the directions come through properly.

I tried to attach a picture but am not able to so i will email you directly
