Sirius renewal

My Sirius six month trial period is about up and I am not too enthusiastic about the various renewal fees.

Seems like someone some time back posted some cheaper prices. Cheaper than $12.95 monthly, that is.

Just wait till XM merges with Sirius. It'll be the same price tho (Can't get any lower than 12 dollars a month for satellite radio unless you pay annually).

I forgot exactly how much I paid when I activated the service for lifetime, I think around $400

There should be something similar from time to time

Don't hold your breathe waiting on an Xm merger, yes the initial deal passed but its being held up and most likely will see law suits from someone to further hold it up. About a month or so ago they were advertising on all the stations that you could get it for half price, might want to call them up and see if they still want to offer that to you.

On a side note I've noticed that some car companies are now giving life time subscriptions to Sirius or Xm as part of their standard equipment packages, although Benz is always slow with this sort of thing...look how long it took them to finally put a CD player as standard equipment in their cars ha ha.

If you have a 2nd car with sirius you can get both for the price of one subscription.

Activate the 2nd car for the half off price before your trial lapses then let your trial sub lapse. After that re-register your 1st car again for the half off price as a 2nd car on the account.

Worked for me. Probably won't renew though after that though. Having a hard time with reception and the playlists are starting to get very repititive.

I'm not renewing my Sirius after my trial period is up, which is very soon.

Sirius is nice to have, but I don't want to spend $12+ a month in a car I don't drive much. If Sirius has a plan where I could have an additional receiver in my house with the same subscription for the same price, I may be interested.

When I renewed, I went with the two year prepaid subscription. I think they threw in two free months doing that.

Also, I get free internet access to their music. Think of the possibilities. You can wire you home from your computer's audio out to taking your laptop anywhere you want that has wifi and play music. For that matter....you can get on somebody else's computer and play music from your account.

to me, sirius isn't worth it. everytime i listen to it, it's just the same songs over and over and over. i can get that on regular radio :oh: plus, i don't listen to it in the morning since i'd rather listen to the entertaining local morning shows

I did too, it's not that the Serious is worth it to me or not, it's a function on the dash and it would bug me if it was defunct or not set up. It would be like having a car IMO with On-Star and the button but it's not set up or doesn't work anymore. The $60 for the year is moot in my situation. My wife claims to use it daily so you know how the saying goes....

Lol...then I assume you have your Tel Aid set up too? I won't even begin to get into how much that sets you back. Makes me mad that Benz took away the free first year of Tel Aid from the C class, yet my new R class still came with it. Only used Tel Aid once in another car and it was an awful experience, but it does give you some peace of mind. As for Sirius, I can't see paying full price for it as I only listen to two out of the how ever many channels there are, but if I could get it for half off I would seriously consider it. I remember reading a thread here not too long ago where someone called them up to tell them their free trial was over and they extended it another six months. Maybe that person can post again and give you more details as what went down.

I am on the fence about renewing. I had XM in my last car for a couple of years and I was tired of the same songs all the time, they claimed to have millions so why the same ones? Any way when I told the service person to cancel she offered me a free 6 months to stay. Told her no.
