Did you clean the area real good with alcohol? There is also a chemical that accelerates the bonding with the 3M tape I used it once a long time ago any auto body supply shop should have it.

put a couple dictionaries on either side overnight. 
btw, after clearing up the missing paint spots with some touchup paint, looks good again. The bumps can only be seen if under very close examination, so should be ok. putting it on tonight probably.

re did my tape on my roof spoiler that **** keeps poping up so i had to get some 3M super sticky double sided tape. its looking good right now plus its tape down till tomorrow morning.

I took your advise with rubbing alcohol and it worked like a charm! Been a week with no issue here on 3M.

I had 3M on and been on for a week without any dictionaries. Doing over 65 throughout the week with nothing popping up. That's what you get for telling me to move my spoiler up

who8888 same here i had to peel away the old tape and applied sticky 3m tape right now it is still bonding like a champ driving 80 with no pop ups

To those about to start... alcohol is the way to go. It is to remove grease/oil/silicone/wax - some of the other things listed may not remove all that, caveat emptor. Looks good everone, I'm doing mine this weekend after I get proper 3m VHB tape on there.
