'08 C350 Sport & '08 528i
Question NON MM PKG Automatic Volume Control??
I have noticed that when I am driving my car and go from a stop to full speed (like a freeway on ramp) the volume of the radio/cd/sat etc. automatically get's louder.

Can anyone else confirm this and if so, is there a way to turn the bloody thing off? It is not listed in the owners manual.

I have never paid attention to it happening. But I have noticed that if the radio is on and I open the door (when parked of course ), the volume lowers.

Yep, I noticed it, but I like it. From what I can tell it sounds like there are three stages I think one is around 45 and the other 65 MPH? I don't think there is a way to adjust it or turn it off.

Mercedes C300 Sport, BMW 745Li, VW Mk6 Golf TDI
This is a pretty standard feature is most newer cars. Audio will get louder as your MPH gets higher to compensate for engine/wind noise. Not sure if there's anyway to disable this.

Thanks at least I wasn't going crazy -- but that sucks that you can't adjust it, the BMW's and VW's I've had in the past all allow you to do this or even turn it off.

My Volvo 850 allows you to shut of the feature as well.

Hum, I have *not* noticed it in my non-MM car. I thought non-MM cars didn't have it, but maybe they do?
