What is the purpose of this response/post?
When I am looking at the forum and I see that there is a new post on a topic that interests me I am often disappointed to find some silly symbol or a "+1" that provides no information or substance to the subject. Maybe I am one of the few the come here for advice, information and updates on topics, but I find these types of posts to be a waste of time and I assume a waste of server space for the site itself

Lighten up, folks. This is a forum. In a forum, people discuss, share experience, disperse information, and also express personal opinions. The
and +1 are both expressions of certain opinions by the poster (
="I'm interested in this topic, eagerly following it" and "+1"="I agree!").
A sprint booster is an electronic component that you install in line right after the gas pedal. I'm not sure about the engineering behind it, but I believe it eliminates the slight lag after depressing the gas pedal that many M-Bs suffer from. It apparently gives you a much quicker response time by tricking your car into thinking that the pedal is pushed half-way when it's only pushed a quarter of the way. Or something like that. Seems like a decent mod... I didn't think I'd need/want it, but I've been noticing more and more how when I try to take-off off the line, the car really takes a while before it responds.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
I'm also quite interested to hear any personal experiences after installation of the booster by fellow W204 owners.

A pretty good white paper written on the Sprint Booster by a Mercedes owner. Not really sure if it's worth the amount of money it costs...

And now after a mont i'm still happy with my Sprintbooster.....
Just back from my holliday, went to France with my car, 800 miles( 1300km) from The Netherlands. So i have ride aprox 2200 miles with the sprintbooster now.
There are a lot duscusions about the sprintbooster, but in my opinion it's a nice gadget. And if it didn't work, i wasn't so positive about it.
The white paper thing is a car with manual transmission, i have automatic transmission so i dont know if it will work with manual.
Much more fun when driving, I have an C and S on my transmission (dont know how it is in the US?), now it reacts on the gaspedal in C, like you have it without the SB in S. Without the SB i was always dissatisfied about the time it took from the moment of "gaspedal on the floor", till the moment the kickdown comes. Now it reacts more direct, and much quicker.
If i have the transmission in S it's more aggresive than before... more response more fun.
In other topics they say it's between the ears, because if you have spend the money and fit the SB you think he reacts better.....

But believe me, if it didnt work i won't be so positive about it.
My father always go to busines relations on wednesday with my car. when he came back, the first thing he said. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR CAR??? He said that it reacts MUCH more on the gas and on the acceleration on the highway driving 60 mph, the downshift comes faster/earlier than before the sprintbooster.
Without knowing that i have installed the Sprintbooster, because i want to know, is it's between the ears ?, or does someone who don't know that i installed the SB, feel that there is something done on the car......
So i love my Sprintbooster, and if you still don't know, ask someone who has one fitted on the W204 to fit it on your car to try it. It takes 10 minutes to instal so that isn't the problem. Or buy one with a couple of guys, try it, and if you don't like it, you lose a little....

Will I void my warranty if I installed it?
Could it be detected by the dealership?
I could always remove it before taking it in to be services, but sometimes that could be a hassle (though relatively minor)

Don't know, they don't see it's fitted, because you don't see it, only if the take off your gas pedal they will see the sprintbooster, and if something is wrong with your car, it takes 10 minutes to take off the Sprintbooster

Than your always safe, but if my car goes for service, i lett the sprintbooster fitted

I have the automatic version and the response I so much better, in the beginning the car would rev quite high but that no longer happens (either me or the car have adjusted) but you will find that the response from the gas pedal is much better (no lag). There are other threads that discuss the sprintboosters performance (as early as 2006) so review those as well and i am sure you will end up with a SB as well

The author indeed paint an impressed information, but he has missed out something which is paramount important; the actual test with and w/o sprint booster on the car for 0 -100 km/h ! SB does help a bit on sprint timing using dyno test on the same car.

Where to buy sprintbooster?
Googling Sprintbooster, several sites appear which all seem to be resellers. One of which, Sprintboostersales.com then links to "mini-mania" and a BMW site. And their price is not $299.
One of these offers a 30 day return policy but a model for the '08 C does not seem to exist. Another one posted on this forum (TV something) says no returns.
The Ebay link is particularly worthless.
I am willing to risk $299 but I want the ability to return it if I don't like it.
