Deactivate Automatic Mirrors?

Can they be switched off? Sometimes feature makes vision difficult.

dimming or retraction? retraction can be switched off via steering wheel settings menu, but i don't think dimming can be turned off

Dimming no, tilt down on reverse yes, you press the driver side mirror adjust button, or deactivate in the menu.

One question i do have. Can the passenger side mirror tilt down when doing reverse during parallel parking?

THe tilting mirror is not available on the W204, i guess its part of the "cost saving" measures.

Quey, you know damned well that US '08 W204's don't have automatic mirror tiltdown in reverse. This subject has been discussed to death in a zillion posts.

Simple solution -- if you look on your rearview mirror you will see a small sensor. If you place your finger over this sensor and hold it, you should notice all of your mirrors untint quickly.

Step 1 - Get yourself a bit of tape in your favorite color, I prefer black gaffers tape.

Step 2 - Cut off a small square and stick it right over the sensor on the rear view mirror...

Step 3 - Live happy :-)
