Wassup people- I'm new to this forum because I just picked up my 08 c300 4matic a couple weeks ago. It's a beautiful car and doesn't need too many mods done in my opinion. After putting a nice 30% ceramic tint on it this week, the last thing I really wanted to do was get the DVD player to play DVD's while the car is in drive.

I found MBDOCTOR's website on this board and that seems to be the solution to the problem.

My question is if anybody has installed this mod and can give me some feedback on how its been and if they are happy with the installation?

Also, does anybody know if this mod will allow you to play videos off of an iPod video?

Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

Well it is illegal in NY to have a tv in the front seat while the vehicle is in motion. It is a very big distraction. This has also been debated to death in a seperate thread so no need to go into this again.

Ill give you an idea from other post people have bought their kit from that place i havnt heard any complain from it. It is illegal i think in most state in florida it is too, the car is prety fast ill say if you take off one second off the road you will smack someone in the back while you glimpse at the screen . I like the idea but i know it not safe at all very very distracting . Here some people not willing to help others in this forum but not everyoneis like that. There stil alot of good people here and welcome let me know what you do and how much it cost

I think its illegal everywhere...
but a lot of things are a distraction while you drive... i dont think its THAT stupid.

thanks man i appreciate the help. i will let you know what i end up doing. i didnt realize that i was dealing with a group of saints here... i mean, granted its illegal because it can be a distraction to the driver, but i've had navigation in my cars for several years now and im used to quickly glancing at the screen while on the road... its really more for my passengers anyway... i mean, people havent had passengers in the backseat distract them?

There are some people on the forums that dont like the DVD unlock idea but thats a different discussion thats been had too many times as it is.

Anyway to answer your question, there are three companies that make the the VIM unit for the W204 C; nav-tv, midcity engineering, and the MB doctor piece that you found. The biggest problem with the MBdoctor piece is that I have not heard of one person that has actually gotten it. The company is an importer and tends to only import products but are not able to support them. Both the midcity and nav-tv pieces are known to work and are reliable... The difference is that the nav-tv piece is more expensive. The majority of people that I have seen here on MBworld have purchased the midcity piece.

It's not that hard to drive and glance at a video but you have to always expect the worse in combination with common sense. If you're driving through a neighborhood, you know for a fact you have to be alert however if you're driving on an open highway and you don't see anything that might be trouble, you can look at the screen. I don't see what the problem with it is.

I bought it in germany ebay that time, it enabled my TV on the move on my W203. I cannot confirm if this one will work on W204 (though it said it is for W204).
