C300 4Matic
2009 Price?

Does anyone have the price for what you paid on your 2009 W204 yet? I had made a $1K deposit back in Memorial Day to pay for a 2008 C300 4Matic with P2, MM and Ipod kit for $41,000 before tax in NYC . I knew the dealer was taking the advantage of my ignorance and over charge me the price while I found that most the people just paying the invoice or under invoice after some research. Therefore I asked the dealer to change the order to 2009 instead next day and hopefully to renegotiate the deal at fair market price (Actually the dealer did not have the car that I have ordered at that time).

With so many better cars for 2009, such as the A4 (B8), New 2009 BMW 3 series and Infiniti G37 (replace the G35), these car offer more value and better features than W204– safety- parktronic (Hate to paying MB dealer about $1K for $250 after market product ), backup camera & lane assist, more power and better fuel efficiency engines. I just wonder how the W204 can compete with these cars without lower the selling price. Thanks.

I think Mercedes-Benz never gives you as many "features," as other marks for the same amount of money.

However, I appreciate the refinement and quality of the car.

well from what i've seen depending on the options you buy the c class especially the 300 offers you more than say the 3 series or a4.

at least they give you blue tooth, sports package and power seats for free.

none of those appear to be free things on the 3 series. and bluetooth and sports package arent free on the a4.

the g37 doesnt even have the sports package, and its lacking in refinement (and its kind of ugly).

i hope that the new competition keeps prices down though. the w204 is a much better value than the w203 ever was. since I think its actually was cheaper to begin with and you got more for your money.

I suppose you cant get as many "extras" on the mercedes right now like paddle shifters or a backup camera, but i cant really think of something like paddle shifters as a deal breaker personally.

This was for the C300 not the C350? I think you could have purchased the C350 for that price....even though Seattle car prices is a bit high.

well it looks like they were both 2009 models. if its $44000 including tax and title i could believe it. assuming it was auto. but it'd be very close to full msrp.

So many better cars
It all comes down to what you are willing to pay for a car you want with the features you need and or want.
Do the research on Edmunds, Cars direct and NADA you will have what you need to battle if you will. Research your trade in as well. My sales person gave me the high estimate for my trade in + 3% off the MSRP. I probably could have sat there for another 2 - 3 hours and tried to get a few more bucks of but why. My sales person was top class with a great attitude, treated me good, great communication A to Z period.
As for the competition. All these cars are pretty fast and nice looking but the exterior design of the Benz is gorgeous in any color.
