Isn't it standard in the US?

And i dont know if i'm wrong, but by my previous Mercedes the tire pressure wasn't with any sensor. When i putt AMG wheels on my previous car there wasn't a sensor but the ESP measures the rotation and give's the signal if the tire was low-pressured. (but that was told me by the dealer)

Don't know how it is by the W204...

ESP deals wit the traction control of the vehicle. turn it off and u can spin the tires, on u will not be able to do so.

TPMS deals wit the rotation of the wheels, which tells the vehicle when pressure is low, not to let that one turn as fast as the others especially while in a turn at high speeds. and it also notifies u that u need air in the tire.

When I got my new wheels from the tire rack I had them put oem sensors in. Price was either 325.00 or 350.00 (will have to check the invoice) and they paired right up with no problem.

I know the diff between the ESP and TPMS, but i didnt had the sensors in my AMG-s and my TPMS worked good... therefore i asked my dealer how the TPMS can work, and he gave me the answer that the ESP sensor also gives information to the TPMS about the tire pressure. But it was not a W204, it was by a W169 (A-class)

Your dealer might have been mistaken. On cars with TPMS but no sensors they use data collected from the ABS sensors. Not as acurate but no extra sensors that can be damaged or fail.

Now i understand why i didnt understand...

-USA models use an "active" TPMS system, in that each wheel has a pressure monitor as part of the valve. They operate at a fixed radio frequency, are expensive, and easy to damage. Without them, you will indeed get error messages.

-Canadian models use a "passive" TPMS, wherein underinflation is inferred by using the ABS system to measure the rate of rotation of each wheel. This is theoretically less precise, but a whole lot cheaper and vastly simpler.

The TPMS system that uses remotes communicates to the car via radio at different frequencies. The W204's is 433.92 mhz (most of the times parts will just say 433). There are a few frequencies used so I just made sure everyone knows which and yes the TireRack one is aftermarket not OEM I don't know who makes them for MB as I have not seen one off the wheel.

In 2007 when I bought a set of Schrader sensors from Tire Rack ($70 each at the time) for my winter wheels, they were exactly the same as the Schrader sensors that my C300 came with which I saw with my own eyes when one was replaced.

Good I didn't know that as I have not seen the OEM. It does make sense.
