OIil Change question
Prior to bringing my 2008 in for the 13,000 mile check, I decided to look under the car and see if I could change the oil myself. I rode the car up on rino ramps and crawled underneath. I removed the cover which was 8 - 10 8 mm screws and it just poped off. I thought I found the oil drain plug but I am not sure. It was facing the passenger front wheel and looked like it had a brass washer on it. Has anyone ever seen the drain plug? I decided to bring to the dealer for service but I am not thrilled with them sucking the oil out the dip stick hole. I had brought it in for an oil change at 6,000 miles and 2 days later brought it back because they overfilled it by 1 quart. I never really believe they can fully remove all the oil the way they do it. The filter is right on top under the engine cover and is very similiar to the 2004 BMW I had. I would also appreciate anyones help is telling me what Mobile 1 extended life oil I need. The oil change, wiper replacement and service indicator reset was $189.00. If I went the full way which is unnecessary it would have been $350.00 It is not the cost but the way they perform the service that bothers me. I have had 4 Lexus's and 1 BMW in recent years have always done my own service. With this car it seems like everything is a secret.

there was a forum member in the W203 section that did a nice write-up about doing oil changes both ways. He found that both methods effectively drain the same amount of oil out of the car. There are a couple of DIY oil change instructions in the W203 section that will carry over to the W204. If you can come to terms with sucking it out the top, an oil change on the M272 engines is VERY easy to do

thread starter used pumper but someone (in the messages) drained oil and described where it is. Can you confirm it's where what you saw?
I would like to know where drain plug is too, ideally in picture.
