Mirror Problem..Get yours checked!
When I open my door and the mirrors fold out I would hear a squeal every second or third time. I waited a couple months and finally droped it off @ MB..they just called me and said they needed to replace the mirror with new ones.
Get yours checked if you are having this problem..you may need to have them replaced.

There've been a few threads about this problem. Some have reported that the dealers just oiled up the mirrors. Yours, I believe, is the first one to be replaced.
Mine just started squeaking a week ago or so. Once every 3~4 times that the mirror folds/unfolds. At first I was like, "WTF is that crazy high pitched sound???" And then I remember the threads about this problem.
More reasons to find a new dealer.

Mine squeak too every 3-4 times sometimes longer. Also My sunroof sounds like it belongs in a 26 year old car. I don't think there is a fix for the mirrors, it's a definite design flaw. What gets me is MB has had this feature for years.... and they can't get it right??? When the Japanese engineer a feature, after the idea is three years old they have perfected it for life and can be said to be "bullet proof" It amazes me the Germans can make this car handle like a dream, and safe as a vault. But after I don't know how many years of making sunroofs and fold out mirrors can't get it straight. This C300 will definitely be my last MB product, the only German company I still have faith in is Porsche. My old 2002 Passat gave me a bad taste on VW, My folks had bad luck with Audi in the 80's lot's of electrical nuisances. I'm currently looking at trading this car in for a Lexus IS/F as soon as I get the nod from the wifey.

I had both mirrors (motors) replaced because of the noise.
It turned out that updated motors which are less noisy had to be ordered from Germany as mine had the noisy type.
Interestingly, I now get a more solid thump after closing the front doors, something I will put down to the mirrors.
I remember someone's post about his mirrors vibrating after closing his/her doors, have your MB dealer check it out. Improved and quieter motors are available.

So this is warranty work, right? Is there a Service Bulletin out, or will I have to fight tooth and nail with the dealership to get this done?

After having it greased twice, I got fed up with the noise and took it to their dedicated service centre (service only no sales). The technicians over there were more in tune with things. Let them know that you are aware of a modified motor unit.
