I also noticed some people weld 2 V shape pipes together instead of 4 small L shape pipes together.. i am not sure which one is better. but i think you should do some research 1st.

i found this X-Pipe that has less welds from Summit Racing, which means better flow.

hey i was wondering if somebody could explain to me if there's a difference in sound and/or performance between a true x-pipe made with pipes welded together and one made from stamped steel (such as the magnaflow one)

actually in dual exhaust setup you want the x-pipe to equalize the flow down both side. If you take a look at the stock resonator's on the 204 it looks like XX from the inside. The straight pipe will not work as well as the x-pipe.
on many cars people have seen more gains from x-pipe than straight in dual exhaust setups.

i think it doesnt matter, which type???? the shop that did mine, did 2 Y-PIPES with the weld in the in the center of course. sounds great, to me at least, been tryin to get a sound clip done, but the weather has been a lil bit poo pooish, lol. cant have benz online looking dirty, lol.
