help me on couple quesitons plz
I was wondering if the 17" wheel c class and 18" wheel c class have different speed limit?
In addition, has anyone able to figure out the noise from the right side c pillar? it still driving me nuts especially when ever I try to go over bumps.
has anyone try to fit wider tire and wider wheels on the rear?
I am trying to put 18' and wider tire for some extra traction but I wasn;t sure if it would harm the performance rather than enhance it
thax in advance

What I understand it if you have wider tyres * staggered setup * that will improve the handling but you might lose some power from the car but thats not so noticeble , only effects the top speed i think, for small engines like mine. But for 300 or 350 it wont matter as the speed is limited anyway.

The top speed is limited at 130 or so. What's important in performance is the combination of weight as well as width. Wider tires will increase handling performance depending on the tire type and rating. Larger wheels and tires could be heavier tho which will slow straight line take off. Look for light wheels with a thin tire profile like a Z-rating . Search this forum, there are several good choices.

size of wheel has nothing to do with its speed rating its depicted by separate measurement.
ie 225/50VR16
S, H, V, Z..... etc
although you will find that higher speed rating tires will have thinner profile, wider width, diameter to match characteristics needed for high speed driving (controls, softness, gripes, etc)

factory 17" tire is H rated -> all season
factory 18" tire is Z rated -> summer performance
if you have 18" and you live in area where it snows, please get proper winter tires.

The car has the same limiter on weather you get the 17" or 18" rims, 155 Miles. Any changes you make to your rims will effect the top speed or handling, but if my hunch is right you are doing it for the look of the car right? At the end of the day it wont make big positive or negitive effects so go for the look you want. Staggered rims would look deadly and I wouldnt care if it did cause some proformance lose but I think it would help anyway.
