side marker help

my driver's side marker light fell out last night on the highway. I was driving fast on the Interstate toying around with an M3. When I got home and pulled in the garage, the light assy was hanging out by the wires. The internal piece, which seems like it should snap into, is loose inside the bumper cover. Does that internal piece usually float and just sandwich together with the outer assy? Any help would be great. I don't wanna take anything apart this afternoon unless I have to.

BTW........ The C sure is smoooooooth at 140. LOL

The inside piece of the marker does float around on its own until you pop the outside piece into it. So hopefully you should be able to just snap them back together with a little patience.

inner piece floats around. the outer piece hooks on the bottom and clip in on the top and then secured by a single t10 screw on the back side.

you'll need to remove 3 push pin along the side of the fender well cover and pull back the cover to access the back.

Thanks guys. I was able to open the inner fender well and snap the light back together. No screw in back as far as I could tell. Did mine fall out somehow ???

When I swapped for clear reflectors there were no screws either and the car was brand new so not so sure that they all have screws...but don't know.
