There are 3 vendors and the products look different. Derspeed and Who8888 - which of these did you get?

The first one. That's my car in his ad.
BTW, Goodstuffs and Fishcake sell the same item. They are partners and have both used my car in their ads.

Great info. Thank you!
Derspeed- Goodstuffs picture shows amber bulbs, yet your car seems to have silver. Do you know if he can supply the "ghost amber" like fishcake? Goodstuffs has his on sale right now.

Goodstuffs gave me silver coated bulbs with the kit. You can see them in my thread:

SMOKED SIDE MARKER
Just received from Derspeeds guy (fishcake on ebay )
Glad I waited . Quality is Great , color is very good .
My wifes C300 is black and the smoked worked well.
After reading all directions on the forum it took
about 15 minutess a side including cleaning sealing and waxing underneath the marker while out. Luckily no screws on ours.
Received shipment very fast with chrome and amber bulb sets
Make sure you hook two lower clips before sliding unit back into hole.Makes it a lot easier . Once unit is back in hole just snap upper clip. Also recommend using tape on edge of bodywork to prevent scratches.
Thx for all the help guys ! The right tools and the correct directions make it simple.

After not seeing very many smoked side markers, I decided to give them a change on my Palladium Silver. Love it, better than expected looks and came with the silver bulbs that turn orange when on.
Now If I could figure out which wheels!

Very cool look. Maybe someone will take your clears. I've got the clears on order for my white car which should be at the dealer on Monday....

I live in Ca. Is it a law that the side market lights be orange? The color of the light not the lens.
Last night I switched out the side markers with smoked lenses and left in the original white bulb in as it looked better than the provided orange bulb imo.
I'm thinking about upgrading to a white LED 194 bulb as when the side maker light is on the color of the light is relatively yellow.

It's a US DOT law that, in addition to the amber side marker, there must be a visible Amber Reflector.
We are in violation of federal law when we alter or eliminate the reflector. (oh well...)

Maybe you can tell me how would it help if I have a marker that is orange? It not really a turn signal (If it is, I understand why it needs to be orange) Would it stop someone from crashing into me at night since they are going to miss all the other visible lights on my car? or does being "orange" somehow make it safer to drive around?

Actually not sure about the federal law but in VA, the code is to have either orange side marker or clear side marker with orange bulb. I have neither

I'm seriously contemplating filling them and painting like the European bumpers.

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automot...etroreflectors
Sidemarker lights
In North America, amber front and red rear sidemarker lamps and retro-reflectors are required.
The law initially required lights or retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1968. This was amended to require lights and retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1970.
These side-facing devices make the vehicle's presence, position and direction of travel clearly visible from oblique angles.
The lights are wired so as to illuminate whenever the vehicles' parking and taillamps are on, including when the headlamps are being used.
Front amber sidemarkers in North America may or may not be wired so as to flash in sync with the turn signals.
Sidemarkers are permitted outside North America, but not required. If installed, they are required to be brighter and visible through a larger horizontal angle than US sidemarkers, they may not flash, and they must be amber at the front and rear unless the rear sidemarker is incorporated into the main rear lamp cluster, in which case it may be red or amber.
Some Japanese, European, British and US-brand vehicles have sidemarkers in Europe and other countries where they are not required.

2011 BMW 335xi titanium silver.
I purchased the clear side makers with silver bulb from the second seller (Fishcake321). Bought them 3 weeks before the car's arrival, installed them today and they work fine.

I did mine today in about 45 minutes. The clears look great on my white C350 - thanks to all who chimed in.
A big thank you to Derspeed for the instructions and for blazing the trail on this. I had to remove 4 pins (one is under the front corner of the car) in order to pull back the plastic mud shield. It helps to turn the front of the wheel all the way OUT (rather than IN) on the side you are working on. That makes it much easier to get to the Torx T-15 screw which must be removed from the lamp assembly before you can push open the thumb latch.
