2008 C350 - MM & PP & 2004 Honda Civic EX
De-chrome or not to De-chrome, that is the question

First Mercedes and so far, so good. I wanted to try a Make I have never had before. Been the BMW (97 530, 95 M3, 2003 330i Perf. Pkg), Lexus (95 & 96 LS400, 2001 LS430, 1998 GS300), Acura (91 Legend) route. I almost bought a Audi A4 (2009), but they thought it was worth gold and I liked the C350 better. Anyway, so I had to immediately de-badge the C350 and am thinking about taking off that chrome strip along the bottom on both sides, how many of you have done it? PICS ? And is it only held on by the double back sticky tape? I need to get those clear markers in the front also.....part # / supplier = ?? And then onto some window tint. And hopefully I can figure out by reading the one post about how to get music into that hard drive.

yeah it comes off with dental floss and goo gone
IMO it looks very round and bare

It works for a C63, having aggressive lines and a wider stance at the side front.

you can get the clear markers on ebay.
I just went with painting them. it is color matched in the day and has an amber glow at night.

sorry about the bad quality of the photo. I only had my iphone
and yes the rims are CG

Bringing the thread from the dead, why didnt MB put the chrome strip on the C63?, is it because the C63 suppose to be a more sportier look. With the luxury model, it has the chrome strip all around the car, so it looks right, the sport model is only on the side. DId MB just got lazy by not taking it off on the Sport model, or does it looks like it actually belongs there.

I'm about to run into this problem also. I plan on getting a C63 style grill and debadging when I get a roof and trunk spoiler. I drive a black C300. Should I take the chrome strips off?

Your car look good AI, especially with the whole dark rims and all. I guess the question is does the strip looks like it belongs on the car, or someting they just slap on. I still wonder how come they didnt put it on the C63?

Exactly why I removed the strips on my car. On the Luxury model it seems to "fit" better since the there is the chrome trim along from lower valence on the front and rear bumpers. On the Sport Package the door strips look like a last minute, slapped-on idea IMHO
