Headers by themselves almost always don't do much of anything for performance (some have actually held a horse or two down). They are really part of a package of an opened intake, and a freed up exhaust from the headers back. This has been the tried and true way over the years (many, many years), but really, nowadays things are pretty much maxed out in design so unless you are racing, and have done a whole lot to the engine, it doesn't make much sense for the average guy. The more you pay for them, the stronger the performance on the butt dyno, though
