Euro C280 = US C300
He guys,
I live in Europe and have a C280, absolute love it!
But can someone tell me why the same car in US is a C300?
300 just sounds better then 280, more is better, right? And offcourse it is a
3 litre engine and not a 2.8 litre.
So why is that?

it's all about marketing.
C300 sounds like a bigger number than 328 even tho the engine is carried over from the w203 C280. in market where cars are more expensive the badge stayed as C280 instead of 300.

Like Frank DUB said, its all about marketing! But the bad part is that ordering parts in Germany has been somewhat difficult at times, the other day i was at a dealership in Bamberg Germany, trying to order the Brabus exhaust for my C300, and they imformed me that Brabus doesnt offer it for a C300, eventhough you and I know that C280/C300 are the same car!
